You're an appetite.

That line was embedded in me after seeing the movie "Nine" a couple of years ago with one of my best friends. We related it a lot to the men in our lives and how it's so true what Guido Contini's wife, Luisa, said at the end. As time has past, I've thought, "Well don't we all become appetites at some point?" I know I slip up time to time. Not being satisfied with the life I've been given and made for myself. It isn't bad or preventable to slip up, but just don't stay there. It makes for a very ugly life.

Clients- Many times I find myself wishing my clients were this or I had more or they paid me more or blah blah- bratty bratty words. Then I check myself and think about how GREAT it is that these people even trust me enough to take on their brand or business. Me? Trust me? The girl who didn't go to school for this. Yup, they trust that girl. So wanting more from them, or more clients or credibility is me just being an appetite. The realism of the situation is that I can't handle more clients anyway, at this point. I am full.

Books- As I have blogged about before, I have found disappointment in myself when it comes to my novels. People laugh at me and say sly remarks about me publishing a book. In actuality, "What have you done lately?" should be my comment back. It doesn't matter how many copies I sold. It's the fact that it is out there for people to read. I put myself out there instead of having it saved on my computer for life. Perhaps one day they will be picked up by a bigger publishing company. Until that day, I am full.

Reminder: Look out for my new novel's release, Prequel to My ____ Life.

Education- Adults my age are collecting degrees like Pokemon. Bachelor's in Fine Arts, Master's in Business Administration, Certificate in Teaching, another Master's but in Event Planning. The list goes on for one person. ONE. Why? It's because they are an appetite. Many people hide behind the American economy and job positions, but I also think it's laziness. I may discuss this further in another blog, but briefly I want to say that going to school instead of being in it are two different things. One main difference is one is  where you pay and the other is where you get paid. Do your degrees justice. Many times I find myself yelling at mine (sometimes literally). I tell them, "maybe you should have been a Bachelor's in Hospitality or Communications and Minor in Public Relations." Maybe my Master's should have been in Communications at a different school, instead of Public Administration at the same school. I've thought about getting a Ph.D in Creative Writing, but for now I am full.

I want I want I want. I take I take. As my grandmother has said many times, "Don't let your wants outweigh your needs". The second you do, you become an appetite and " if you stopped being greedy you'd die."

How full are you?

Speaking of appetites. On another note. I'd like to share with you one of my favorite Starbucks meals. Haha.  I love their Tarragon Chicken salad sandwich. I may make fun of Starbucks (people in there with their Apple products) a lot but this sandwich is no joking matter. It's yummy. Although sometimes my salad is a little dry. It is so worth the like $6 I pay for it. It helps me stay full while writing diligently so I can go home.
*I've been wanting to share that for some reason.

Tell me Your Opinion

As time winds down, there becomes more and more preparations needed to finish a novel. Right now me and my photographer want to hear what you think about the options we've narrowed it down to. Which is your favorite and why. My vision for the cover is "Beautiful Disaster".

Thanks in advance!

Business Woman Wannabe

The good outdoors is supposed to fresh and enlightening. For me its more like stress but I can breathe a little better.

As I have said before, I want to be honest with my followers. Well... There are five of those but I meant more so the page viewers I get everyday (By the way, yesterday there were A LOT).

Yes, I am a business woman but many times I feel like I am a Business Woman Wannabe. This means I'm into the idea of running my business but in the end of the day "Am I capable?" is the pressing question. I wannabe the best boss, I wannabe the best publicist, I wannabe the best writer (well maybe not grammatically). Either way, I wannabe a lot. So does that make me a wannabe or the actual thing?

Today I went to Pennsylvania to visit both of my stores. Yes, MY stores. I own both. YES, I am only in my early-mid twenties. No, I don't have a boyfriend/husband. Well depends on who you ask. Anyway, I went and met my newest employee. She's very peppy and is a bundle of bubble wrap. Exactly the type of girl I wanted. My Milford branch/location has a great vibe that customers love and keep coming back for without them even realizing. And I wanted to keep that atmosphere by hiring a personality like the New Girl's.

Then I continued my day by venturing out to the Hawley branch/location. The building it's in is stunning. And  more importantly so was the store. I am very pleased. :)

But as I sat down and thought about the behind the scene issues we are having, I critically thought about what I could do to make it all better. As today went by, I have developed really good ideas to aware the area about the launch of this new store. Because trust me, if they knew, they would come. It's all about innovative publicity and promotion, which is what I am good at. Or am I? This brings me back to me being a wannabe.

I write, I manage, I strategize but what I am not making currently is a salary. And those who know me, I am a woman with a plan ALWAYS. So to be a freelance writer or marketing strategist, it's hard for me. The hard part is not fixating on the fact that you're not sure if 3 months from now, you'll have enough money to live off of.  In my mind, that is what freelancers do. That's what entrepreneurs do. But then there is the excitement of just getting that light bulb over your head and then trying the idea and then the idea ACTUALLY working.

Am I a Business Woman? Literally, Yes. I own a business, run a business, I am about business. But I wannabe more. My fear is that everything will stop here and never progress further, which I can not allow myself to dwell on. For my business' sake, I need to believe in it because people believed in me. I have the ideas, I have the strength and I have the heart to make these businesses thrive. I think I just had to write all this to remind myself of that.

Here's to the new year of my being vulnerable.

If you're an entrepreneur, remind yourself that you would have never started this if you couldn't follow through.

Positivity

It's a glorious day...

The sun is out, it feels good and it was full of laughs.

I feel like I should introduce myself and I'm not quite sure how to do so. But here we go.

I'm a college graduate, currently pursuing a Master's degree. I have lots of ambitions and responsibilities. Right now I am focusing on publishing a book I have worked on for yeeeaaaarrss. I first started it in middle school I think and continued through high school then finished in college my freshmen year. THe story isn't complex but I did it for fun and had no drive to actually finish. Of course I started to wonder how the book would end and that drove my creativity. So poof! I had a novel... written by ME. Very exciting. Unfortunately, it took me graduating to put fire under my butt to publish it. And that is where I am today.

Along with this novel, My ____ Life, I have numerous other projects I have in the works. My next book I want to put out is a nonfiction piece called Letters. It will contain letters I have written and sent or written and kept to people in my life. With each letter will have a story to follow it, explaining why that letter is significant in my life. I got the idea from Maya Angelou's book that contains recipes followed by a story with the dish in it. Brilliant. So I thank her for giving me a reason to use these letters I have stored in a crate. Otherwise they would never get any use.

I hope that helps you know a little about me and my creative mind. I will be posting some more stuff and sneak peeks. So stay tuned! :p
