This Fashion Week I'm not as prepared as the last time. I keep thinking maybe I'm just satisfied with what I've accomplished. Last season, I was able to get invited to a Mercedes Benz show for my own credentials and name. Not another company's, they invited me for me. There's nowhere but up from there. Its not like I'm going to work in the fashion industry. Welllll maybe if Kelly Cutrone hires me I would be. =)
There was a lot of studying that went into me understanding this world. Watching documentaries, reading articles, Rachel Zoe Project. Then I attended shows and interacted with the people. It was fascinating. Did I want to be included in all the fun? YES. And in my way, I was. I wrote my little heart out about my experiences and what I've seen. The feedback was tremendous and flattering. It was nice to be thanked by designers, Nolcha and readers.
So what do I do now? I just released a new book, have been asked to help with a new project, still manage social media and working full time for the non profit I went to grad school to work for. What??? That's my life. I can't believe it. Although I think there is always time for fashion.
