NSS: National Stationery Show

Most people could not begin to imagine who would go to this show, but I am here to tell you that I am one. I LOVE stationery and am very pleased that it's sold within my store. You have no idea. Love it.

I may have mentioned it before but there is something so special about handwriting a note to someone. Often it's now traded in for a cute text message (SMS haha) or wall post. But there is nothing like the real thing. My friends and family know it's one of my favorite things is to send them notes randomly on a cute stationery. Or even old co-workers know I've done it to boost morale. Does everyone appreciate them? I don't even care. My sole reason for doing it is because I thought it would be nice. If it's received... then great. If not... doesn't change the fact that it was done, does it?

Here are some highlights from my first visit at NSS.

For one my shoulders were KILLING me from carrying things. This was the first show/fair/ convention I've been to that didn't have bags given to you as soon as you walked in. But in their defense, it was later in the day. But this very nice woman, who also just so happens to be just as talented, offered me a tote bag. Therefore I will forever show it off to promote her in return.

They had a unique look to their booth, which I appreciated since everyone seemed to be on the chalkboard trend. Julie Everhart is the designer and is from Portland, Oregon. All I have to say is "recycled paper and soy-based inks". How great is that?



Wednesday

Besides Wednesday being my favorite day of the week since Middle School, I am now very much in love with this company. The name is what caught me first but Jessica's dad caught me second. He was very helpful and even inspired an idea for my book release. Look at that. And this company is from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

There is nothing better than meeting entrepreneurs on the rise, but what's even better is when they have such enjoyable personalities. And with Wednesday and Studio Olivine, I think I hit the jackpot.
