This is what I've learned

I've been thinking about what I wanted to share with my loyal followers. It wasn't another piece, it wasn't a review of a movie or book. I wanted to share something of depth.

The past few months I have been learning more and more about business. How to be a better publicist, business woman, and entrepreneur.

Networking is an art and I am slowing mastering it in my own way. Twitter is the greatest tool to use. You have company or even CEO at your finger tips. You have a complaint about the NJTransit train being late, tweet about it and the CEO of NJTransit may tweet back with a smart remark (Happened to me and made me stop complaining). I've even gotten the attention of a musician who has had a single play during my FAVORITE show ever, One Tree Hill.

All in all, the most important thing to remember is that you aren't your business, job, or career, but they are you. This is confusing but you make your brand for example i a representation of you; as you business, career, job is. My book, store, services represent me. Too many times do I let it consume me instead of me consuming it. I should stress and spill out of the pores of my job positions.

Pay attention to everything going on around you, it's what will help you always to be prepared. I watch E!News for not only the entertainment now. I watch it to receive information about different industries and mainly about business. The entertainment industry makes billions of dollars everyday. Then why are we still poor? Are these people smarter or more talented? Noooo... they're just more aware. And of course, some just had really good luck. But think of it this way. If you aren't aware of what's going on, how will you know who to meet, when to meet them and why you should meet them? More importantly, how to make your own luck.

I think that is all I am going to share right now. But I will say, in the midst of it all... I am learning people are always not who they say they are. Or who they may seem. Even friends in business. SO my advice is to always make sure you focus.

As I tweeted today:
"You think with your eyes, so you are easy to fool."

I don't want to be a fool. Do you?
